Beethoven Symphony No.5

Beethoven Symphony No. 5 (貝多芬第五交響曲)

The dedication to Prince J. F. M. Lobkowitz and Count Rasumovsky is visible 可看得見的樂章.

The Symphony No. 5 in C minor 小調, Op. 67, was written by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1804–08. This symphony is one of the most popular and well-known compositions in all of classical music, and one of the most often played symphonies.

It comprises four movements: an opening sonata奏鳴曲 allegro快板, an andante行板, and a fast scherzo諧謔曲 which leads attacca不停 to the finale. First performed in Vienna's Theater an der Wien in 1808, the work achieved its prodigious reputation soon afterwards. E. T. A. Hoffmann described the symphony as "one of the most important works of the time".

It begins by stating a distinctive four-note "short-short-short-long" motif twice: The symphony交響樂, and the four-note opening motif主題 in particular, are well known worldwide, with the motif appearing frequently in popular culture, from disco to rock and roll, to appearances in film and television.

During World War II, the BBC used the four-note motif to introduce its radio news broadcasts because its rhythm節奏 is the Morse code letter "V" (· · · —, "victory").

-------
Ludwig van Beethoven (English pronunciation: /ˈlʊdvɪɡ væn ˈbeɪtoʊvɨn/ (US), /ˈlʊdvɪɡ væn ˈbeɪthoʊvɨn/ (UK) was a German composer and pianist. He was a crucial figure in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western classical music, and remains one of the most acclaimed and influential composers of all time.

Born in Bonn, of the Electorate of Cologne and a part of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in present-day Germany, he moved to Vienna in his early twenties and settled there, studying with Joseph Haydn and quickly gaining a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. His hearing began to deteriorate in the late 1790s, yet he continued to compose, conduct, and perform, even after becoming completely deaf.

I also like the Beethoven Symphony No. 5. It is a highly rhythmic and popular music played by a full-size orchestra. I think there are about 100 players in the team. This symphony orchestra must be a famous one in the world.

Thank you Terri for letting us see the great performance!

Beethoven's 5th Symphony is a visible piece of music because of its four movements: an opening sonata allegro, an andante, and a fast scherzo which leads attacca to the finale; and its four-note short-short-short-long motif. Its four-note motif is like the Morse code letter "V" (· · · —, "victory").

I think that this symphony brings a powerful message. It not only sounds like and also looks like the image of victory.

I would like to recommend you to listen to the music.

I admire Beethoven's unbeatable spirit. Although he lost his hearing in the late 1790s, he continued to compose, conduct, and perform, even after becoming completely deaf.
I think it is something I can learn from him.
